GoHighLevel vs HubSpot for Irish SMEs: Cost Shape

Compare GoHighLevel and HubSpot for an Irish small business: seat vs account pricing, euro estimates, VAT supplier differences, and who should pick which.

Affiliate disclosure: Some links on this page are affiliate links for GoHighLevel (HighLevel). If you sign up through them, MyAiAssistant.com may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. HubSpot links (if any) are ordinary citations — we do not have a HubSpot affiliate offer on this page. That does not change the numbers below, and we also say when HubSpot (or neither tool) is the better fit.

    The short answer

These products bill in different shapes:

    GoHighLevel (HighLevel)HubSpot
Entry paid modelOne account subscription (Starter $97/month or $970/year on HighLevel’s published materials)Per seat for Starter Core Seat ($20/month per seat in HubSpot’s Product & Services Catalog)
Users on entry paid planHighLevel states unlimited users on all plansEach person who needs more than view-only access generally needs a paid seat
Free / trial path14-day free trial; billing starts unless cancelled (HighLevel pricing FAQ)Free tools / Free CRM path exists (no time limit stated on HubSpot free-tools materials); paid Starter is optional
Extra costs that often surprise Irish buyersUsage: email, SMS, voice, some AI (confirm Ireland rates in-account)Extra seats; Marketing Contacts tiers on Marketing Hub; credits for some AI/automation; Professional onboarding fees in the catalog
Supplier nationality on the invoice (often)HighLevel, Inc. (US) in HighLevel materials → often a received-services / reverse-charge pattern for Irish business buyersHubSpot’s Customer Terms list HubSpot Ireland Limited as the contracting entity for many non-US jurisdictions → often a domestic Irish invoice pattern when that entity appears on your Order Form / invoice

Rough euro framing (estimates only): using the ECB reference rate for 5 November 2026 (1 EUR = 1.1224 USD — ECB daily feed):

    • HighLevel Starter ≈ €86.42/month (from $97) before VAT / FX fees.
    • HubSpot Starter Core Seat list ≈ €17.82 per seat / month (from $20) before tax / FX / local checkout currency. Three paid seats ≈ €53.47/month at that same rate — still below one HighLevel Starter platform fee, before either side’s usage/contact/add-on lines.

Pick HighLevel when you want CRM + funnels/websites + calendars + SMS/email automation in one agency-style stack and you accept USD billing plus usage volatility. Pick HubSpot when you want a free start, seat-by-seat growth, and a vendor that commonly invoices Irish customers through an Irish entity. Pick neither if you only need a booking page and a newsletter.

What this comparison is (and is not)

Is: a cost-shape and fit guide for Irish small businesses and solo operators, grounded in official pricing pages, HighLevel help docs, HubSpot’s Product & Services Catalog, and Revenue guidance cited in our VAT guide.

Is not: a claim that we ran both products side-by-side; a ranking of “best CRM 2026”; or tax advice. Feature lists below are vendor-published capabilities, not verified personal results.

    Price models side by side

GoHighLevel — pay for the account

From HighLevel’s pricing page and pricing & billing guide (USD; rates change):

PlanPublished USDEUR estimate @ 1.1224 (ex VAT)What the plan mainly unlocks
    Starter$97/month or $970/year≈ €86.42 / ≈ €864Up to 3 sub-accounts; unlimited contacts & users (per HighLevel FAQ)
    Unlimited$297/month or $2,970/year≈ €264.61 / ≈ €2,646Unlimited sub-accounts; rebilling usage at cost (help guide)
    Agency Pro / Founder (SaaS mode)$497/month or $4,970/year≈ €442.80 / ≈ €4,428SaaS mode / rebilling with markup (help guide)

Most single Irish businesses evaluating HighLevel should start from Starter, not Pro. Pro is for agencies reselling software — Pro trial (affiliate) only if that is you: Pro trial.

Usage on top (confirmed categories, not Ireland line items): HighLevel states usage charges for phone/SMS, LC Email ($0.675 per 1,000 emails), and several AI features. This page does not quote HighLevel Ireland SMS/voice/number rates — check Wallet Pricing / billing inside the account (or HighLevel’s country materials) before budgeting Irish messaging. See also the usage section in GoHighLevel cost in Ireland.

HubSpot — pay per seat (Starter), then scale hubs

From HubSpot’s Product & Services Catalog (USD list prices; catalog notes fees are subject to applicable taxes; HubSpot updates the catalog periodically):

    ItemCatalog / published figureEUR estimate @ 1.1224
    Starter Core Seat$20/month per seat≈ €17.82 / seat / month
Included HubSpot Credits on Starter (Smart CRM / Marketing / Sales / Service / Content / Revenue Hub purchase)500 credits / monthn/a
    Extra credits (pay-as-you-go)$0.010 per credit (invoiced in 10-credit increments)≈ €0.0089 / credit
Free tools / Free CRM pathExists as a $0 starting path on HubSpot pricing materialsConfirm current free limits on HubSpot’s free-tools pages before relying on a contact or user cap

    Important caveats for HubSpot numbers:

    1. Live HubSpot marketing pages sometimes show time-limited Starter discounts or local-currency checkout prices that differ from the catalog’s USD list. Treat $20/seat as the catalog list anchor; treat whatever HubSpot shows at checkout as controlling.
    2. Marketing Hub bills marketing contacts as part of that product’s packaging (catalog FAQ: you pay for marketing contacts on Marketing Hub). Exact included contact tiers should be read on the current Marketing Hub pricing/catalog rows before you budget — do not assume unlimited emailing at Starter.
    3. Professional / Enterprise editions add higher seat prices and, in the catalog, required onboarding fees on several hubs — usually irrelevant for a first Starter comparison, but material if you outgrow Starter.

HubSpot’s Customer Terms of Service identify HubSpot Ireland Limited (Dublin) as the contracting entity for many jurisdictions outside the Americas (see the jurisdiction table in the Customer Terms). Always match your Order Form / invoice. That Irish-entity pattern is why HubSpot often feels “domestic VAT on the bill” for Irish buyers, while HighLevel often feels like a US SaaS reverse-charge case — explained in VAT on foreign software in Ireland.

Illustrative monthly totals (hypothetical — not observed bills)

Assumptions are labelled. Replace with your own seat counts, marketing-contact tier, and HighLevel Wallet quotes.

    Scenario labelWhat’s assumedHighLevel-shaped bill (illustrative)HubSpot-shaped bill (illustrative)
Solo operator, light email1 power user; light email; little/no SMSStarter $97 + low LC Email ≈ just over $97 before VAT/FXFree tools if enough, or 1× Starter seat $20
Three-person service team3 people need edit access; moderate email; SMS unknownStill one Starter $97 + usage (SMS = check Ireland in-account)3× $20 = $60 Starter seats + any Marketing Contacts / credits
Agency with client sub-accountsMultiple client locationsUnlimited $297+ or Pro $497 if SaaS/resellUsually a different buying problem (Partner / multiple portals) — not HubSpot Starter

Do not read the three-person row as “HubSpot is always cheaper.” Once you need heavy SMS follow-up, funnel hosting, or many client sub-accounts, HighLevel’s account fee can undercut a pile of separate tools — or overrun you on Irish messaging. Once you need HubSpot Professional features, seat + onboarding economics change again.

    Who should choose which (Ireland-flavoured)

    Lean HighLevel if:

    • You are an agency, freelancer with clients, or a service business that will actually use pipelines and SMS/funnels in one login.
    • You prefer one USD platform fee that does not rise with each teammate.
    • You are willing to learn a denser product and to watch the wallet for messaging/AI.

    Lean HubSpot if:

    • You want to start on free tools and only pay when a clear seat is needed.
    • Your team grows by adding people (seat math is honest and predictable at Starter list rates).
    • You prefer an Irish contracting entity on the paperwork when that is what your Order Form shows.
    • Your near-term need is CRM + light marketing, not a full funnel/SMS machine.

    Skip both (for now) if:

    • You only need invoices + a booking link + a simple email list — cheaper focused tools often win.
    • You need a fixed euro bill with zero usage volatility and zero seat math — neither product is “set and forget” at scale.

VAT and currency (short; not tax advice)

    • HighLevel: US company materials; Irish business buyers should read the reverse-charge / received-services notes in GoHighLevel cost in Ireland and VAT reverse charge guide. Absence of a VAT number ≠ automatic consumer status.
    • HubSpot: If your invoice is from HubSpot Ireland Limited, treat it as a domestic Irish supply pattern until the invoice says otherwise — not a classic non-EU reverse-charge buy. Confirm on the document in front of you.
    • Both may involve card FX fees when the charge currency differs from your account currency.
